Always Do Your Best

This is the fourth (and final) week in our study of Don Miguel Ruiz's The Four Agreements.

This one's pretty simple - Always Do Your Best.

Just keep doing the best you can.

Will we make mistakes? Yes.

Will we make assumptions? Yes.

Take things personally? Yes.

And maybe not be impeccable with our words?

Absolutely – because we're human.

But just try everyday to do your best.

Take a step forward, and when you don't love yourself. . . start over.

I love you, and I want you to love yourself.

Let's all do the best we can.

I hope you have an amazing day!

Do Not Make Assumptions

Here we go with week three of Don Miguel Ruiz's Four Agreements.

His third agreement is: Do Not Make Assumptions.

You may have heard the old saying...

When you assume, you make an "ass out of u and me."

As I've learned, we don't know what's going on in other people's lives.

We may think we do, but we really don't.

And they don't know what's going on with ours either.

So instead of assuming we know what's going on, let's ask questions. Let's get clarification.

You might be surprised.

Especially if they have a look on their face that tells us they're upset.

It probably has nothing to do with you. They just got something else going on.

So, this week let's practice Ruiz's third agreement and not make assumptions.

And if you're curious to read Don Miguel Ruiz's book, the full title is The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom (A Toltec Wisdom Book)

I hope you have an amazing day!

Be Impeccable With Your Words

Today we are continuing our study of Don Miguel Ruiz's The Four Agreements.

The next agreement is: Be Impeccable With Your Words.

Being impeccable with your words means being careful of what you say.

In Al-Anon, I believe they say "Mean what you say. Say what you mean. Just don't say it mean".

So, you can be impeccable with your words for others.

AND also be impeccable with your words about yourself.

Are you being loving and kind to yourself? Are you being loving and kind to others?

Being kind can really help with relationships and your self esteem.

So this week, be kind to yourself, be kind to others, and be impeccable with your words.

Don't Take Anything Personally

Thanksgiving is upon us, and the holidays, which means family is upon us.

This can be very difficult for some.

Don Miguel Ruiz wrote a powerful book called The Four Agreements. Let's explore these agreements together over the next few weeks.

The first one is: Don't Take Things Personally.

Ooh, that could be tough.

But remember, when somebody's upset, generally it's because something is going on with them. It has nothing to do with you.

Practice not taking things personally this week when you're hanging out with your friends and family.

When somebody says something you don't like. . . take a deep breath.

You can choose to not respond. Or you can respond with a kind heart, knowing that they are doing the best they can.

Good luck to all of us on this Thanksgiving holiday.

I hope you have an amazing day!

Ready for An Energy Experiment?

Ready for a fun challenge?

I'm reading the book E-Cubed and it has a fascinating 3 day experiment:

Not complaining or talking unkindly about ourselves or others.

I started this experiment yesterday afternoon. While I was driving to my job today, I found myself complaining about someone to a friend.

Soooo.....reboot! I'm starting over again.

Will you give it a try?

See how much negativity comes out about others and yourself.

This is the life we form – the energy we put out there comes back to us.

So together, let's try for 3 days. Send me a quick email if you're in.

If you have to start over, that's okay. Just reboot!

We'll not complain and talk only kindly about ourselves and others.

Good luck to me, and good luck to you!

If you're curious to look into the book, it is by Pam Grout and the full title is E-Cubed: Nine More Energy Experiments That Prove Manifesting Magic and Miracles Is Your Full-Time Gig.

What Is There for Me To Learn?

The theme for today is "What there is for me to learn today?"

Curiosity is a wonderful thing. Perhaps you've asked yourself...

"Why am I feeling this way?"

"Why is this happening?"

And ultimately, "What is there for me to learn from this experience?"

These questions can lead us down the path of self-discovery.

It might be something really small – I need to give more eye contact.

Or big – I need to move to a different place because this is not what's serving me.

Meditate on this question today: "What can I learn today?"

Talk to Spirit and see what's out there for you to grow and create.

I hope you have an amazing day!

Life is Not Perfect...But It Can Be

life lessons perspective Oct 31, 2023

Lately, I've been coming to you from my car because life isn't perfect.

Ideally, I'd set up my tripod. I'd put my mic in. It would sound PERFECT!

But you know what? I'm at a job and this is the main time I can do this.

People say life isn't perfect, but it can be. You make those choices of perfection, even in the worst of situations. Because that is where you learn the most.

So you can decide that this very moment is perfect, whether it feels great or if it feels lousy. Because you go into that lesson that you're supposed to learn in life.

So give yourself that perfect moment.

Perfectly great that you can take a breath today.

Perfectly great because you are able to walk on both feet.

Whatever that is, decide – "this is my perfect moment! I can give it a different perspective."

Have an amazing day!

Professional Lip Syncer

I want to tell you about an inspirational moment I had this morning — about lip syncing!

Remember Milli Vanilli?

When I was growing up, there was a musical group called Milli Vanilli that got caught lip syncing music, instead of singing it themselves. While many saw this as a negative, I remember thinking...

"I don't have a good singing voice. Wouldn't it be cool to be a professional lip syncer?"

I love to dance, I love acting like I'm singing without making the sounds.

Girl You Know It's True

And guess what?

I realized that's exactly what I've become — I'm a sign language interpreter who loves to interpret music. I play the song and it's not my voice singing. But it's my hands moving and my body dancing and I am having the time of my life doing it!

Be Careful What You Ask For

So, like I always say, be careful what you ask for and what energy you put out into the universe.

For years, as a child, I always wanted to be a professional lip syncer, and...

Dealing with the Terrible "What Ifs"

Do you ever fall into the trap of thinking about terrible "what ifs"?

What if this doesn't work out?

What if I can't ever meet anybody?

What if something terrible happens?

What if I can't find the house that I love?

These thoughts consume us and take up so much energy.

The Flip Side

Here's a suggestion. Let's shift the perspective to a new set of empowering questions:

What if I was successful?

What if I found that perfect house?

What if this relationship did work out?

What if I was highly successful in everything that I would love?

It takes the same amount of time to go into the worry of "what ifs" of the tragic as you can go into the "what ifs" of success.

So today, really think about, What if life worked out exactly the way that I would love?

Give that thought energy.

As I often say, God gives us everything we want. God always says "yes," but it's what you have faith in, because that's what you focus on. So try shifting to the positive possibilities.

What if I was...

The Tip of the Iceberg

Today, I want to talk about the tip of the iceberg – what's hidden under the surface of our lives.

There are two perspectives we can consider when talking about the iceberg...

1. Understanding Others

First, when we look at other people, it's easy to feel jealous of what we superficially see on the outside. It might be their success, their relationships, or even their material possessions. But you never know what's going on inside. What you see is just the tip of the iceberg. We all have struggles that no one else can see, so please keep that in mind.

2. Recognizing Your Own Power

Second, our physical self is just the tip of an iceberg that we can see above the water. There is a vast greatness and beauty in the invisible. It is the source, spirit, God (whichever name you use) who works in amazing ways!

Remember, our physical is limited. We can tap into that resource of spirit and love and all of that invisible...
